I fell in love with Jerusalem some years ago. It is a truly magical place - you can feel a certain connection to the history of humankind in its streets.
Jews, Arabs, Christians, Georgians, Armenians, Ottomans, they have all left a deep imprinting in the city's diverse, inspiring and truly gorgeous cuisine. Late Summer - early Autumn is a great time of the year for cooking, with its abundance of figs, pomegranates, fresh dates. Markets such as Mahane Yehuda get dressed in a rich palette of ruby reds, deep oranges, golden yellows which blend so beautifully with the city's architectural and natural landscapes.
This dinner will try to recreate this atmosphere. The emphasis will be on fresh and seasonal produce, fresh herbs, quick preparations and new taste and texture combinations. Recipes have been thoroughly tested and approved by friends and family, who keep asking for more.
When you leave I bet you will be planning your next trip to the Holy City!
